Shatabdi to Jaipur
Morning train, in by lunch. Checked in, ate, and did nothing else until evening.
Worth knowing
The Shatabdi is worth it over driving. Four hours, and nobody arrives angry.

Amber Fort, early
At the gate by 8am. Done before the heat and the tour buses. Panna Meena stepwell on the way back is five minutes and free.
Watch out
Skip the elephant rides. The queues are long and the animals are not well kept.

City Palace, then home
City Palace and Hawa Mahal from the outside, lunch at LMB, evening train back.

Gatimaan down, back the same night. Possible, and much better than the bus tours.

Same route, half the pace. Volvo up, a car for the local days, and nothing scheduled before 9am.

Two of us on rented Himalayans, no bookings past the first night. Fast, cold, and cheaper than it sounds.
