Train to Thivim
Overnight Konkan Railway. Thivim is closer to the north beaches than Madgaon, which nobody tells you.
Worth knowing
Book the moment the window opens. This route sells out sixty days ahead.

Anjuna, Vagator, Chapora
Scooters from outside the station. Anjuna in the morning, Chapora fort for sunset, and the day sorts itself out.

Slow morning, evening train
Breakfast in Assagao, one last swim, back to Thivim.
Watch out
Petrol pumps near the beaches run dry on weekends. Fill up inland.

North for nightlife, south for quiet. Trying to do both in a weekend gets you neither.
Carry your licence. Checkpoints on the Anjuna road are routine and the fine is not.

Flew in to save a day, stayed near Lal Ghat, walked the old city.

Local train, one night, back before Monday. Almost no planning required.

Two of us on rented Himalayans, no bookings past the first night. Fast, cold, and cheaper than it sounds.
